Disney Genie and Lightning Lane Attractions
Disney offers what they call Genie services guests to have a more streamlined park experience. The Genie service can be accessed through the My Disney Experience app and offers planning features such as a personalized itinerary creator and suggested dining and attraction notifications based on the time of day and where guests are located in the park at a given time. Genie tailors its suggestions for guests based on personal preferences and forecasted wait times to help guests make the most of their time while they visit. The Disney Genie service updates with new recommendations throughout the day while taking into account booked dining or hotel reservations and park activities. Lightning Lanes replaced the former Fast Pass+ system. Lightning Lanes allow you to choose an available arrival time window to return to the attraction instead of waiting in longer standby lines. There are two ways to purchase and select arrival windows for Lightning Lane entrances: Genie Plus and Individual Lightning Lane.
Genie+ allows you to choose the next available arrival window from over 40 select attractions in all 4 theme parks, whereas Individual Lightning Lane is reserved for Disney's most popular, in-demand rides and attractions. With Individual Lightning Lane, guests may purchase and select an arrival window one at a time for up to 2 attractions a day. This option is available for all Guests—with or without the purchased Disney Genie+ service. Disney Genie+ service is available for purchase each day that you plan to be in a park and cannot be purchased in advance. Prices vary per day.
